Announcement:I’ll Be Taking Some Time Off!

Filed under: Whatev. — sjff @ 4:31 pm

For the past couple of months,I’ve experienced and learned a lot from this blog and you readers.I originally started this blog to express my love for the modern South Korean culture and well…may I be honest with you?…to be sarcastic.Hey,everyone needs some constructive critisms.I admit that I’ve gone overboard a few times with my sarcasm, and I apologize to those who were hurt by my sarcasm.

Good news for you, readers.SJFF has decided to take a break from this blog.I don’t know how exactly long that’d be,but it won’t be that long.I’ve decided that I seriously needed some break from managing this sarcastic blog.I’m tired of crude commentors(no,I’m not talking about you Soup!=D.I actually liked your comments. You know a lot of stuff about that homosexuality thing!) and those who just plainly hate me for criticizing their “oppas” and “noonas.”I’m sure that this has been stressing for all of us.Me taking a break will make all of us simply happy.Yeah,haha.
Actually,to be honest,I’m not really that interested in Korean culture anymore.I listen more to American rock/metal songs than Korean pop songs.I like Joey Jordison better than Choi Siwon(yes, you heard me right.)I recently bought a Metallica album, but I highly doubt that I’d ever buy a repackged version of F.T Island’s Colorful Sensibility.Currently,my song is Linkin Park’s “Given Up”,not DBSK’s “Mirotic.”Brit’s new pop song “Womanizer” is the song that’s stuck in my head right now,not SNSD’s “Kissing You.”I recently got a detention from singing “Psychosocial” in class(that teacher thought the song was inappropriate=p),haha.I’m sorry,Kpop fans, but I somehow don’t find Kpop that interesting and exciting anymore.
Oh yeah.Watch me turning into a metalhead or a goth or something, and this Asian blog into a Judas Priest fan blog.Haha.That can happen!=)

I enjoyed being the author of this blog, and I will “make my comeback” soon.I learned a lot from you guys! Thanks!
Stay tuned and have a freaking wonderful day/night(depends on what part of the Earth you live in!)

 xoxo

 SJFF

  1. Good luck on your next venture. Keep writing. I admire people who are able to create constructive analysis of things un/worth discussing about and able to take in constructive, objective, & subjective criticisms from the readers. One thing to keep in mind, however, is not to get affected too much from the negative energy that some readers throw in your face (I know you know this – just a reminder that’s all). Being a writer isn’t always fun. It could be tiring as well especially when there’s nothing more to discuss that’s new. I ‘m receiving the same vibe as you do when it comes to Kpop (or even Western pop) that it’s becoming boring; kind of same-old-thing it just recycles. Those who tried to be edgy such as the new Rain, DBKS, (and BOA) are receiving criticism due to their atypical Asian songs/lyrics thus it seems like it’s becoming a “trend” to over analyze the hidden meanings of each lyrics (yeah, aliens hiding from them XD). I mean it’s good that they’re paying attention to lyrics but to spotlessly clean the music industry – then they have to be responsible when releasing their reviews for over analyzing lyrics because inflicting “meanings” to listeners who are not even thinking about that (deep meaing of the lyrics) for they are too busy “spazzing “ (is this even a word haha)over their idols’ apperances. It’s a double sword on both sides, really — good luck to them all!

Anyway, where was I initially? Sorry for the roundabouts— do take a break. Come back as a writer again. And try different issues… not just Kpop or music for that matter but also everything… food for thought things… not too cliché or not the cheesy ones of course but something more concrete…

Good luck!!! been signed off myself……. thought to drop by as promised before (suju reply) and lo and behold you too … hahaha Enjoy ur break and take a lot of notes… writer is always a writer!

  2. I don’t think you went overboard with your comments and sarcasm. It was mild compared to some of the other blogs I read, believe me your blog was quite a refreshing ramble.

Your situation reminds me a bit of my manga and anime obsession. It just stopped being interesting and a singular desire in my little world. I still read manga occasionally (etc). But it will never be a central passion again, even if I wish it could be.

If you get the urge to write about your new interests don’t hesitate to do so. True fans of your blog will eat up anything you write. Good luck and have fun.
