H.O.T’s sweetheart Lee Jaewon was accused of being rapist and was arrested. He was released shortly after (after 3 hrs).
The victim was a 25-year-old soon-to-be singer, and she claimed that Lee Jaewon raped her after stopping her resistance. On the other hand, he claimed that they did have sex, but she agreed to do it. He was arrested, but was released after 3 hrs when the victim withdrew the suit. Thanks to this incident, he suspended from YTN’s “Live Power-Beautiful X-Mas”, a program which he was supposed to appear in on the 24th.
Ahh…This is so confusing. I don’t know what’s going on.

Talk about Korean teen idol boy/girl bands. Matthew Bellamy wannabes who think they’re all rebellious and sexy like the Sex Pistols. I’d be totally lying if I had said that there aren’t any great rock bands in Korea, but come on, rock is getting too commercialized over there thesedays. The TRAX, Buzz, FT Island, Miroband, R-eaL…Now what do we have here now? Some Korean “rock” girl band called “Burning L”.
First of all, what kind of a name is that? “Burning L”? How about “Janis Joplin Wannabes”? No, I don’t want to use her name in vain. Oh, how about “Man Avril Lavigne Is So Cool We Want To Be Like Her And Get Married To Hot Pop Punk Dudes And Be Rich”? They haven’t debuted yet, so I don’t know whether they’re going to be the next The Beatles or Buzz, but considering the fact that they’re supposedly teen idols, and that they’re called “the girl FT Islands”, I’d assume that they suck. Don’t write their own songs. Hand-synch. Singing about how their boyfriends dumped them and how cute-looking they are, instead of dissing on the authorities. Yeah, I can pretty much picture that right in my head.
And what genre are they going to be? I mean, I absolutely hate this “genre-labelling” thing, but I need to know what their musical style is. Probably “rock ballad” or pop punk. Uh, talk about mallpunks or mallgoths. 97% of the “punks” in Korea are already mallpunks who doesn’t know anything about Dead Kennedys, but think because they shop at Japanese clothing stores they’re “punkier” than other people who DIY make their own clothes and stand up for their punk values. So why should we have some another mallpunk/goth band when there’s so many I’m-so-punk-cuz-I-wear-Japanese-clothes-but-what-the-fuck-is-the-Black-Flag “punks” around us? Aren’t “We’re So Matthew Bellamy” FT Island and “We’re So Paul McCartney” Buzz enough?
By the way, what’s the odds of them becoming popular anyway? Koreans are all into the Wonder Girls and SNSD. Gosh, I can’t wait to see them covering some Linkin Park or Metallica or RHCP song (the Korean boy/girl band kids all have this thing for the WB’s rock artists) and the Korean rock listeners all bashing on them. That’d be so funny.
Girls, don’t try to be rock if you’re not. Kurt Cobain wants to come up from his place and slap those bands’ sellout asses. “It’s better to be dead than cool.”

Oh man, this is the funniest “Smells Like Teen Spirit” cover ever! Sorry, I just found this on YouTube and it’s HILARIOUS! Especially the part when he sings the chorus part…”DANGEROUS!” “ENTERTAIN US!!!”
And wow, I thought he was a ballad singer. On “Lee Hana’s ‘Peppermint’ “, popular Korean ballad singer Park Hyoshin(ever heard of the beautiful love songs “Hwashin” and “Snow Flower”?) sang his newest song, “Things I Can’t Do For You” along with Jungyup, Wheesung, and Gummy. When MC Lee Hana asked him to sing “something girls would really like”, he sang Taeyang’s “Look At Me”, dancing. I mean, dancing. Wow. At least people liked it.
Also Wheesung sang the mushy version of “Only You” on the show.
