Jaebeom’s not even my favorite 2PM member.
But I’m trying to understand him. So he was a JYP trainee back in those days. And we all know what JYP trainees have to go through. He didn’t even know when he was going to debut. “OMFG why is the fucking president being so mean to me I can’t even speak Korean so what the fuck am I doing in here? After I make some moolah I’m leaving for America bitch!”
I, like Jaebeom, am an American. When my parents moved to Korea, I’ve had such hard time trying to fit in that it wasn’t even funny. And I was attending an international school. I couldn’t speak much Korean nor eat Korean food. Yeah, it sucked.
It seems kind of immature of us to bash him for what he has written on his PERSONAL MySpace four years ago. I’m aware of the fact that Koreans have a lot of pride in their heritage and country, so I guess that’s why so many Koreans are freaking out over this. But I understand where he’s coming from. Plus, he apologized.

I don know if you read the whole thing, but culture shock is not the important issue here. Of course any one living in a new country feels homesick. He said “sacrificing a few years for a lifetime of happiness”!!!!! He thinks living in Korea is a SACRIFICE ! And he only wants to make big money and fly back to US where he thinks he belongs to. THAT’s what pisses Koreans out. Get it?

@japple: I understand what you mean but…hey…he said it 4 years ago when he don´t know korea in any case. so i think his opinion has changed in these years. the fame he gained was after his comment about korea. i think the koreans should not take this comment so seriously. we should not bash each other for this thing cause its 4 years ago and I can understand people who need to move to another country they did not even think about. to move to korea was something he never thought about, i think. thats why he said this.

What is done is done, and ok lets say you have changed, but what you’ve said and done is a fact and you have to take responsibility for that you know.

Apparently there’s a petition now going around to get 2pm to stop all it’s activities, too. Jaebom might be kicked off of some variety show, and people were trying to get him kicked off of 2pm altogether. This is getting really ridiculous.
@japple: If you live in a completely different country without your friends and family where you know no one on a familiar level and are in training day in and day out but not making money (and when debut seems like only an abstract concept), I doubt that you’d be loving your situation. Calm down.

I think he rather meant his trainee years, not his stays in Korea, when he said “sacrifice.” In addition, I meant non-Americans bashing America, not Americans bashing America. We have more foreigners and immigrants in here than in Korea, and those people sometimes complain about us and our country. Plus, he was a mere trainee when he wrote that, not a popstar. He wasn’t exactly “gaining fame and money and stuffs.”
Why should he be punished for having a personal opinion? I do not think Robert Pattinson is cute, should I be punished for my opinion just because it goes against the majority’s? Every human is entitled to his opinion. It’s extremely hard to just start loving a foreign country out of nowhere when one is just fresh off the airplane, by the way.
Yes, it’s four years ago and people should get over it. People grow up and mature. Opinions do change. You wouldn’t say that you were the same person you were in 2005 either, now, would you? His opinions towards Korea should have changed by now. It would be very immature and petty of people to condemn him for what he has written on his personal MySpace four years ago.
@sopebear: Are you serious? That’s ridiculous. He has every rights to stay in Korea as long as his visa’s valid. 2PM’s not even my favorite boyband (and to be honest, I only like Nichkhun and their songs/choreography), but things must be getting really out of control over there.

@sjff: That’s not all, apparently. For a short while there was a “Jaebeom Should Commit Suicide” petition online (or some title like that) that had 3000 signatures before it was closed down by the petition website. I have a suspicion that these anti’s and haters would get along quite well with some of the more extreme ELFs. And 2pm HAS stopped all current activities to “work on their next album” or whatever. Yeah right.

oh so sad…he left 2PM..actually as a hottest *2PM’s fan* i feel a lil disappointed cuz he just left it like that…i wish he could do something,,but then…it was really over for him as a member of 2PM…i was damn sad but i realized that…maybe that was the best thing to do,,at least now he’s home..with his family and all ppls who will support him no matter what…he’ll be fine…and i still hope one day he can come back again…

i sympathize with his situation completely, and he has my support. because whether or not i like him, he deserves to be treated like a human. and he was cheated of that.
many korean stars commit suicide because of these types of things. thank god he was both smart an strong enough to get out while he could. this kpop craziness… needs to stop. :|
